CAD Drafters is a CAD drafting and BIM modeling company based in San Diego, California. We work with architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, developers, and homeowners across the country. Some of what we hold on file is ordinary contact information. Some of it is the actual project material you send us (markups, sketches, floor plans, scans) so we can turn it into a usable drawing. This page walks through both, plainly, without the legal fog most sites bury this in.

1. Who This Policy Covers
This policy applies to caddrafters.us and to any inquiry, quote request, phone call, or file transfer connected to it. If you’re filling out our form on behalf of your company, both you and the business you represent are covered here.
2. What We Collect
Information you give us directly: When you request a quote or reach out through the site, we typically collect your name, email address, phone number, zip code, the type of service you need, project scope, building type, and whatever details you type into the message field. If you call or email instead, we keep a record of that conversation too.
Information collected automatically: Like most websites, ours logs basic technical data. It includes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visited, and how you found us. This comes through standard analytics tools and cookies, and it’s used to understand site performance rather than to identify you personally.
Project files: This is the part that makes drafting different from a typical business website. To quote or complete a project, you often send us existing drawings, hand sketches, redlines, photos, point cloud data, or scan files. These sometimes include property addresses, site conditions, or floor plans belonging to your own clients. We treat that material as sensitive, whether or not it technically counts as “personal information” under privacy law.

- To route your project to the right drafter or team based on discipline and complexity
- To manage turnaround, revisions, invoicing, and file delivery
- To keep records for warranty or follow-up support on completed drawings

We don’t use your project files for anything beyond the work you’ve hired us for, and we don’t repurpose your contact details for anything you haven’t agreed to.
4. How We Handle Your Drawings and Files
Project files are shared internally only with the drafters and reviewers actually assigned to your job, plus any subcontracted specialist we bring in for a specific discipline; all of whom operate under confidentiality obligations. We don’t publish, sell, or hand your files to anyone outside that circle. If your project requires a signed NDA before you send anything over, tell us, and we’ll get one in place first.
5. Cookies and Site Analytics
Our website uses cookies to remember basic preferences and to measure traffic through analytics software. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will still work, though a few convenience features may not. We don’t use cookies to build advertising profiles of visitors.
6. Who We Share Information With
We don’t sell or rent your information to anyone. We do share limited data with:
- Software and hosting providers that keep the website, email, and file storage running
- Subcontracted drafters or specialists brought in for a specific discipline on your project, under confidentiality terms
- Payment processors, if you pay us directly through the site
- Authorities, only if we’re legally required to disclose something
Every one of these parties is expected to handle your information with the same care we do.
7. How Long We Keep Things
Contact information is kept for as long as we have an active relationship with you, plus a reasonable stretch afterward in case you come back for revisions or a related project. Project files are generally archived for a period of time after delivery, since clients often return months or years later needing an update to the same drawing. If you’d rather we deleted your files sooner, just ask!
8. Keeping Data Secure
We store files and contact records using reputable, access-controlled systems, and we limit who inside the company can see what. That said, no method of storage or transmission is completely airtight, and we can’t promise perfect security. What we can promise is that we take reasonable, ongoing steps to protect what you send us.
9. Your Choices
You can ask us at any time to:
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails (there’s a link at the bottom of every one)
- See what information we have on file for you
- Correct anything that’s out of date or wrong
- Request that we delete your contact details or project files, subject to anything we’re required to keep for legal or accounting reasons
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what categories of information we’ve collected and to opt out of any sale of personal information. 10. Children’s Privacy
Our services are built for architects, contractors, engineers, and property owners, not for children. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and if we learn that we have, we’ll delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
If we change how we collect or handle information, we’ll update this page and change the effective date at the top. We’d encourage you to check back occasionally, especially before sending over a new project.
